Our Meeting 24 july 2018 President James welcomed members and guests and thanked members for helping with the tree planting on the weekend. The committee structure has been circulated and our exchange student Irene will be arriving here next week on Monday at 4.15pm. Peter Crozier Saturday Market Report Peter reported a cold day with limited crowd, but won many marketeer friends by charging a reduced rate of $30 for each stall. A total of $1284 was banked from the day. John Smith and Tim Barter Saturday Market Update The co chairman of the Saturday Markets gave an update on a new logo and identity for the Saturday markets, with a move to expand the range on offer by moving away from a "producers market only". The new look will be launched next month. During the colder months it was decided to move the start time to 7.00am setup and 9.00 am market opening. This will continue in non daylight saving time. A survey was completed of both vendors and customers and the main results were to keep the market monthly and not to move indoors. The marketing will concentrate on the social media to get the message out. Greg Conkey Greg gave a free plug to the lady mayoress ball on 28th of July with 30 of our best local acts. Tickets are still available from civic theatre. John Gray Sergeant Session John fined everybody he could think of, with a special focus on moving Paul Milde from the top table! |
