RYPEN Darren Wallace was selling leftover merchandise from this year's RYPEN. Items included hats, caps and shirts. Contact Darren if you would like to buy one. Proceeds will go to the Cambodian project. Darren said that our Club sponsors two children at the DCC school in Cambodia. Cost of sponsorship is $40 per month per student. A number of Wagga residents sponsor children and you can too. Contact Darren if you would like to sponsor a child. SATURDAY MARKETS OIC Phil McIntosh gave us a report on the final market for 2019. It was very successful. Team members were: Craig Bromley, Phil Burgess, Ken Cook, John Egan, Wal Paton, Graeme Obst, Ric Priest, Steve McCoy, Jeremy Reithmuller, Ken Taylor, David Wishart, John Smith. There were 40 stalls with a steady flow of people. The weather was perfect and members shared good fellowship. Stalls $2070.00 Gate $ 754.70 BBQ $ 394.70 Banked $3019.55 after deducting the cost of music and a voucher. BURMESE CHRISTMAS PARTY Burmo is inviting anyone who would like to attend, to a Burmese Christmas Party at his ranch on Sunday at 12 noon. This is not a play on Burmo's name. In fact the leader of the Burmese community in Wagga, Hong Qi is organising the party at his friend Burmo's property. If you are going you will need to bring along some food and utensils. PEACE CEREMONY 2020 Rick Priest revealed that there are a number of changes to this year's Peace Ceremony. Read the minutes from Murrumbidgee Peace Committee meeting to understand the changes. Some traditional parts of the ceremony are missing but a number of changes are for the better, especially moving inside. SERGEANT David Hodge had a novel way of raising money and testing our knowledge of our fellow members with a quiz. Some of the less known facts about members were revealed: e.g Pykie was arrested and spent a night in the lock up as a young man. Gerry Gerlach bored out Garfield Sobers? in a cricket match. Michael night flew on a DC3 to school in Bathurst. Mark Hillis kept racing pigeons. We'll try an publish the full list in our next bulletin.
