Geoff Breust, gave a summary of his annual report which is printed in full in the Changeover Program Booklet, which was presented beautifully by David Foster and his staff.
The highlights were:
  • Gears and Beers Festival achieving 1200 riders and $60,000 income.
  • Riverina BMW Food and Wine Festival described as the best yet netting $40,000 for cancer care and a further $40,000 for other projects.
  • Two special markets, Australia Day and Christmas.
  • Sprout and About monthly markets revitalized under the guidance of John Smith.
  • Exchange Student Willis Cheng and his development over the year with the assistance of his host families and members of the club.
  • Outgoing International Exchange Students Tayla Crevatin and Nellie Shepherd
  • The development of the new Rotaract Club with special mention of the work of Claire Lawlor
  • Defib. For Life A.E.D’s 15 units now purchased through good work of Travis Downie
  • Two major International Projects including Global Grant of US$35,000 for DRC and a District Grant for Cambodia.
  • International Federation of Cricketing Rotarians successful international carnival held in Wagga and organized by Jim Gibson, John Gray and David Benn.
  • Ongoing Fellowship including Christmas Party at Paul and Carolyn Murray’s and a Tenpin Bowling night, Golf competition and the Luftwagga.
  • A list of excellent guest speakers and vocational visits to Robe and the Plywood factory.
  • Club raised $160,000 and donated $148,000.
  • Three PHF’s awarded to Phil McIntosh, John and Judy Ferguson.
 
Geoff thanked all members for their efforts during the year but singled out Tim Barter (Food and Wine), Phil McIntosh (Gears and Beers) and Wal Paton and Mal Robertson (Food and sustenance) for special thanks.
